On the 28th of July 2008, my family and I went on holiday. In the group were: myself (Lloyd), Jayne, Josiah, Janessa, Jayne's twin sister, Elizabeth, and her daughter, Rhianna, 4. Also included were Jayne and Elizabeth's cousin, Monique, 6, and the twins' mother, Sue. All of us were due to fly to Jamaica for a two week holiday. We were extremely excited because we'd been planning this trip for a long time.
We touched down in Jamaica on the evening of the 28th of July. The next day was spent on the beach with the children having fun. The children played in the pool and in the sea. Plans for the rest of the holiday were to explore the island and visit family.
Shelina had stayed home, in Gloucester, in order to watch the house. She was very much looking forward to seeing Kalisha who was due home on Wednesday the 30th of July.
Meanwhile, in Jamaica we were all asleep. At about 2:30am on the 30th of July we received the phone call: Shelina was hysterical on the phone and after a while we were able to make out what it was she was trying to say.
Kalisha was dead.
In a moment we went from being the happiest family I know to being the saddest, literally over night.
